Positioning Log In Form

So far, I've been able to get everything as I need it with Xoops, and recently commented in the feedback forum. Ive just run into one problem, and that is getting the log in form where I want it.

I made two new blocks, in which I added my links and custom images for my navigation I wanted to use. On the far right, at the bottom, I want to log in box. Ive tried absolute positioning it by editing the template file to now luck. I can hit preview and see it, but after submit and checking the site its not there.

Ive tried using table positioning, div, and the form style positioning to no luck.

I searched the forums, and the otehr topic like this had no effect. Thanks for any help, and keep up the good work all.

You need to clone the system templates first. After you clone the templates then you can edit the cloned template and your changes should take effect.

Here are the steps required:

1. Go to system admin and select 'Templates' under System Admin.
2. clone the templates (right hand side of table)
3. edit the cloned template set with your changes.
4. go back to Preferences under System Admin and then select 'General Settings'
5. Set the 'Default template set' setting to your newly created template by selecting it in the dropdown box.
6. I'd recommend clearing your /template_c directory

Your changes should take effect.

Re: Positioning Log In Form

Ive gone through all that. Im sorry, but I think my problem was that the log in box is gone once logged in, and is replaced by 'View Account' 'Edit Account' etc. Correct?

Thanks for your support.

Yes, the login box does "disappear" when you login since there's no value in having it displayed once your users are logged in and so XOOPS displays the account view/edit menu items instead.
