To pick up arguments posted there. I very much believe its your (communities) choice to do so.
Why shouldn´t a local support site have the wish to create its own identity by it´s own theme? Even if you want that one exclusively and pay for it i see nothing wrong with that. Its a site of your community and there it´s very own choice to do so.
Corporate identity for support sites might be a nice thing but force one design on all of them? I don´t think so
