I'm baffled. I have built a clean new 2.2.3 XOOPS install and am unable to get certain modules to function. I do receive the following message which I presume is an indicator of my problem (altghough I'm clueless as to what to do)

"No Profile Field Found" this error appears with every install of the new DMS module.

I also get the following stream of messages with php debug:

I am having the exact same problem. When trying to install the module I get the following error:
No Profile fields found
The module however seems to get installed but when I try to go to http://{XOOPS_URL}/modules/article/admin/index.php I get a blank page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In the sense that misery loves company... I guess I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone in having the problem.

I am pretty sure that this is a global issue. I tried re-installing several times with no effect. This happens with almost every module I tried.

I hope that someone could help. Anyone?

Applying the XOOPS 2.2.4 patch changes nothing. Problem remains the same. Isn't there anyone who can shed some light on this. I found several posts where other people report this problem but never get a reply.

I must admit that the response from the developers regarding this message is deafening.

I have discovered a module (docmanager) that works in spite of this issue...however.

This and other issues with versions 2.2.x are frustrating enough with their lack of stability that I have begun testing other CMS modules out to use for my new sites... and I have 14 XOOPS sites to date.

Still and all XOOPS is architecturally superior to almost everything else I've seen. It's just that operationally it has become quite unpredictable.

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?dms

contact the author and ask him if he can figure out the problem..

with regards to the debug messages, do a search, theres about a thousand threads all askin the same and all with the same replies.. saves another repeat..

I'd love a pointer to the no profile field found message. My searches yield nothing on this site... or elsewhere for that matter.

I posted a bug on the developers site for dms (before posting here), as of this writing I have recieved no response there either.
