Having read this thread I wondered whether any consideration had been put into place to enhance the default XOOPS Search facility?

For example, I often have to use Google to find an XOOPS entry here at Xoops.org that the sites own search block did not deliver. In addition, those on isolated internal Intranets are snookered!

I realise search engine algorithms are a science in themselves and very difficult to master (thus the success of Google) but the XOOPS community being as good as it is I wondered if it would be possible to make the search facility more accurate.

NB - I realise there is Xoogle (for standard external sites)but that effectively lends itself to Google importing the hits from Google (if selected). I suppose it could be argued 'why bother then?', I guess. But I think it would be great if Xoops' own core search facility delivered the goods. Just a thought.
