My site have around 500 session of access, the shared server are overloaded, Is there any way to limit the number session?

Something like this: if number of session over 200 (then) Change the site for registered user and webmaster to access.

number of session = <{$lang_stats_ausers}>

You could reduce the session timeout value. By default it is 30 minutes, if you lower it then you should dump some of the inactive users.

You can do that in the admin => preferences => general. Turn 'use custom session' *on* (or the next bit won't work), and change 'session expiration' to something lower. 10 minutes is probably reasonable.

Thank you very much for your reply, I have change the session time to 5 mins, but the session still too much, any way to limit the number of session?

the session keeping 250, even I have closed the site,

You sure about that? If your site is closed you should only be using a minimum amount for webmasters and I doubt that you would use that amount. I would suggest you talk directly with them regarding this matter or change hosting.

I closed the site by XOOPS admin general setting, user will access only the login page, I see the active session by reading of module statistics

I could be more a server issue. ask them if they have changed any php session settings?

I really feel this is not a XOOPS issue but server side. Its just your site?
