I seriously doubt that you can install a such "thing" yourself on a shared host and in the case of a dedicated server, it suppose to have a minimum knowledge like for everything.

This is what was said, web hosting packages dont come with LDAP, if you want to use multi XOOPS sites from one user base, most people can't unless they know how to install LDAP, and even if they did, they would need a dedicated server.

Bottom line LDAP is good for medium to big companies or those with home based servers

LDAP doesn't help most members, whom dont have dedicated servers, and dont have a clue how to use it.
