I am building a site using XOOPS 2.2.3. It is obvious how I (as webmaster) can add banners. But how does a registered user add his own banner (without first giving him access to the banner admin area)?
Any help much appreciated

That's probably not an area that you want to give people access to.

Thanks for the reply.

Can understand why you wouldn't want to give people access to this area but was kinda hoping that such a banner would need approval (by webmaster) before going live on the site. If this is not the case, does anybody know if there is a module that is compatable with 2.2.3 that allows for this sort of thing?

I haven't used the phpadsnew module found here:
https://xoops.org/modules/repository/singlefile.php?cid=92&lid=1208 , so I wouldn't be able to tell you much about it as far as user uploads. If you read through the posted comments, you'll also see a couple of links to an update and some good instructions on its usage.

There is also an excellent article here about it.

Thanks,

It seems that that particular module has a few intergration problems and requires some "tweaking". I have posted in the module comments for more help.

But if anyone else knows of another banner based module, please let me know.

Thanks in advance

phpAdsNew version 2 works very well for me.

The article referenced above refers to version 2, and NOT the version in the module repository. You can find version 2 on sourceforge.net. While it's not a module, it does integrate within your website fairly easy. The article is a good way to started using phpAdsNew version 2
