Hi.
I am working on a amiga webpage,
and i have downloaded the XOOPS package.
Now,the amiga web browsers dont support CSS.
I really want my page to be amiga friendly,
and i was wondering if the early XOOPS versions
was without CSS,or if there is any to get it running,
so that CSS supported browsers take advantage of the CSS,
and non CSS browsers can use html code.
I think it can be done by typing in all the html tags in all
documents,but its alot of work.
Can anyone help me out here?
Or does anyone know a system that can run with no CSS?

Guntracy.

You can try detecting a user agent by php and if it is Amiga then directing it to different page. Not sure how to implement that though for all pages. Could theme.php do that? I would assume so. The problem with this would be end user can disable agent detection so you would have to check only for Amiga browser and if it responds correctly use different theme.php code.

WOW! Talk about backwards compatability! No CSS support? At ALL?! WOW!

To be completely honest with you, you would need to hack your theme, every template on the system, and posibly even some module files to guarantee compatability with that browser.

If compatability with a browser that doesn't support CSS is an absolute must, you may want to consider statically coding your site rather than using a CMS. In the end, it will be less work for you.

Hope this helps.

it's a hell of a lot of work indeed.. even XOOPS core contains css let alone modules and templates..

i'm shocked to know that any1 is using an amiga for net access :S #OOPS# you must be restricted more than what cell phones are or PDA's..

I forgot to mention that Amiga is supporting PHP.
Amiga has a couple of browsers that functions well.
The AWEB browser and the IBROWSE browser.
There is also one named VOYAGER,but i dont think
it is so good.
Opera was originally going for an amiga port,
but it was laid dead.I dont know why.
Amiga is alive.

I wont knock Amiga owners - especially as my 3rd system uses a SID chip (C64 Sound chip ) - and i'm glad to see theres a userbase as well.
