Ive installed ExtCal - nice and simple event calendar.

Problem:
Apparently there is no sorting of dates. Events are listed in the order they were uploaded, not in the date order of the events themselves.

eg. If event 1 occurs on 09/09/04 and event 2 occurs on 08/09/04, the list still appears as event1, event2 and not the other way round (which seems to be the more logical way of doing it).

Any hacks or help to correct this?

Do you mean the date sort was descending and it should be ascending?

Or did you mean the date sort in random?

At present, the date appears in random order - but it is not entirely random. As I said in my first post, events are listed in the order in which they are posted by admin.

Therefore, you can have an event with an earlier start appearing AFTER a later event, because the later event was posted first.

My question is how to sort the start date so that events appear in date/time order.

Anyone? I have the same problem.
Shouldn't be too hard I guess to change sort order by a little hack?

I would also be interested in this little feature being added.

Also can anybody tell me where if possable i can change the date which is displayed for example my site currently displays an early date in the month as 5:mm:yyyy and i would like it displayed as 05:mm:yyyy, it's the leading zero i want to add to keep the formatting the same

The author of eXtCal has a forum addressing these details:

www.zoullou.net

You set your date format in the module preferences.

I have found a fix for the date order listing in the year calender so i thought i would post it here for the benefit of other members like i said i would.

To list them in date order rather than listing them in the date they where submitted you just simply need to download the latest version from the Authors site (click here for Authors Site) and update the module using the normal module update method after uploading the new files to your server and this will rectify this bug.

If you wish to change the date listing in the year view from DESC to ASC this change can be made in /class/event.php in the getEventYear function about half way down the page

I am running the latest version of this module.

I have scoured every possible knowledgebase on this subject.

Yet I am having a somewhat similar problem.

Via admin Panel, when looking at Events.

The events are not chronological, instead they are sorted by last modification.

Does anyone know of a method to force the events to sort chronologically here?

Also, Does anyone know where to find the hack to sort the category's alphabetically?

Zoullou's site has 0 usable info.
