I am always being asked, how do you use this site, is there any modules that have 'a how to use XOOPS guide' for new members?

As there is alot of people out there, who are non computer friendly?

If not is there any module we could use or is there a way of implenting it direct into the core code?
So that it can be added to on top of the XOOPS general guide each time a module is installed.
Do you see what I mean, XOOPS needs a general guide for its users as most systems have one explaining them i.e. bb code ect

So could we have one? or is there one out?

Even still we could do with it, adding it as a core part as then we make it that each module when installled, adds its help guide to the main guide?

Smartfaq has a Faq that can be imported with information for new users. Keep in mind that this was written for 2.0x XOOPS so some things, but not a lot has changed in 2.2x.

You can find the download on

This Page.

See an example, with some additions, On My Site.

It has all of that in there, just remove the more advances stuff you do not need.

For instance see :
How do I log in.

I don't Remember My Password, What can I do?

Basic User Menu section

Don't forget I have added to mine.

I did a guide to member services for my worksite, which covers a lot of the common functions and modules. You are welcome to make use of it / adapt it to your own site if you like (I think I have the word file somewhere if you want it).

(And if you have time to turn it into a generic version please release it back here!)
