I have created two base languages, english and swedish

and I have made the block visible
I also have added [sv]text[/sv][en]english text[/en] in some blocknames and modules names

But I don't get the flags to click on in the language block.

After updating common.php as mentioned in Installation instructions, u have to note some things:

1. XLanguage 2.06 (latest used by XOOPS Tranlsations members) does not work on 2.2.x core.
1.1. XLanguage 2.06 cant maintain site in 2 base languages with different charsets, eg. ISO-8859-5 and UTF-8.
Temp SOLUTION: Edit xoops_root/language/english/global.php latest line, change charset iso8859-1 to UTF-8.

Temp SOLUTION 2: If u're using old XOOPS translation, placed here in the downloads section, u can try to make it with both charsets ISO8859-1 (not tested).

For Swedish language - our incomplete UTF-8 will be released this days on our project page, use it with caution. Incompleted cos lack of interests for this language from your country mans, 6 swedish translators and they sleeps from year.

Swedish use country FLAG 'se' not 'sv'.

Do not use Country FLAGS in your Language block, some "profesional" HSP (Hosting providers) do not compile and use PHP with GD2 support. From Administration/Blocks edit Language block, and turn the drop down menu from the block options.

I think this will solve your problems (partialy).

Thx, I'm running 2.2.x so that is the problem then,
the choosen charset is ISO-8859-5 on all three of my base languages.
I'll stick to the browser detection then, because it works very well.

New question?
Where do I sign up for helping out with the swedish translations?
