I try to edit the words in the "User Menu" in homepage. But I didn't seem to see it anywhere in the .php files or blocks. I want to change "View Account" or "Edit Account" or even "Notifications" to my own words. Can anybody help!!! thanks

Well if you want to take an easier route than say editing code. You could install the content module. which is available in the repository

**edit**

guess i should explain how to use it...

Basically install it like a normal module.
Then go to the module and "add content" from here its pretty much cake.

You put in the link title and the external url.

Then go into blocks admin and add your content block. set your weight and get rid of your original user menu.

You will notice that all of your module links show up in the menu

Go into the content module and adjust select no in the visiblity options.

done.

Go to your:
modules/system/language/english

Find the blocks.php and open it in your text editor. You can change what you wanted here. For example:

define("_MB_SYSTEM_VACNT","View Account");
define("_MB_SYSTEM_EACNT","Edit Account");

change to

define("_MB_SYSTEM_VACNT"," Your Account");
define("_MB_SYSTEM_EACNT","Modify Your Account");

Save the changes. Go to your site, refresh the page if necessary and the new name should show up.

Hope this helps!

edit block

1. How can I edit the template part of the block. For example, I try to edit 'user menu' block, then I clicked on the 'edit templete' of the content. But the only option is 'view', that won't save or change anything that I had modified. Please help!!

2. I saw alot of 'index.html' with just a line of code " <script>history.go(-1);</script>" what is that do exactly?

thanks!!

I can definitely answer #2 for you, it just means go back to the last page viewed.

As for #1, have you cloned your templates yet, and then set the default to the cloned set?

Jason,

Go to the Admin section, under Misc. select "templates". You will then see a default template group that you can "clone". Once you clone, you may need to generate templates if there is a red number beside each module.

After you clone the template set, be sure to go to preferences and select your new template group as the default template set.

I'm not at my XOOPS computer, but I *think* I covered each step.

Let me know if you have problems.

Hi,

A silly newbie question, most likely, but help would be appreciated:

I just cloned the main template set and set the new one as default, in order to make a change to the login block template.

After the change was submitted, and I went back to the homepage, and was surprised to see all the links in the main menu block were gone.

Does anyone know how to get them back?

Thanks very much.
