User registration on xoops 2.2.3final - Please help..

Hi,

For some reason, XOOPS does not let people register.. Clicking on "Register now" brings "you have no permission to enter this area" message..
How come?

I looked at the user groups and the block's permissions, and everything seem permissable...

Also, I noticed that, as admin, I can not seem to add users manualy.. Where is that tool..?

Did you give the anonymous users' group access rights to the profile module? That's needed for people to register.

To manually add a user: Modules >> Profiles >> Users

Oh copper and toothpaste...

I removed the profile module.. No disrespect, I know you guys worked hard on it and indeed it is a good module.
...Anyway.. Seems I should re-install and learn to live with it..

Xoops2.2.3 looks great, but it's a pity that it cannot do a simple task like adding users properly.

The Extended Profiles (Usermanagement) allows you to add user, but there is something wrong with the pull-down menu in Select User under Edit User.

I would've thought that a basic task like adding users should be more straightforward than this, and should be incorporated in the main XOOPS admin.

Maybe 2.0 is better than 2.2 ?

using the extended profiles and have this same issue at the collective website

looks like the same issue... please advise.
