Is copying the module the ONLY way to create seperate feeds in seperate locations?

I have tried both versions 2.99 and 3.01. I see posts saying one can clone a headline in the Blocks/Groups section. Neither of the versions show a copy/clone option anywhere.

If I'm missing something I would appreciate someone stepping me through it.

If you do have to copy the module repeatedly does anyone know of an RSS "reader" that doesn't require copying?

I REALLY must say though, other than this issue xhld is an OUTSTANDING module.

Thanks

You can use xhld's recent news block more than once, in different locations on your site. The only problem is that your choice is limited to either displaying one feed in a block or all of the feeds in a block; there's no in between.

All you have to do is

1. go into Blocks-->List All Blocks
2. Find xhld's "Recent Headlines" block
3. Click "Add"
3. Decide where you want the block to appear and what topic you want displayed.
4. Click submit.

Repeat, Rinse, Dry

You can probably duplicate this as often as you want, but I wouldn't overdo it.

I must be incredibly dense. I get to step 3.5 and am lost. I can figure out how to tell it where I want the block. But how to tell it what topic I want is apparently beyond me. Unless I edit the template (there is an Edit Template option) but it's not obvious to me what to change/add.

I have created 2 headlines and (so far) everything I try ends up with both headlines in each block.

BTW I am using xhld 3.01 and thanks for the help so far, I'm closer than I was.

There shouldn't be any template modifications necessary.

Since you've already added the blocks, what you have to do now is go into

1. Blocks-->List All Blocks
2. Find either of the headline blocks that you've created.
3. You'll see "Edit" to the right of it.
4. Click "Edit"
5. Look for "Options" on the new page
6. To the right of "Options," you'll see:

Number of columns:
Max bytes of title:
select:

You'll want to use the drop-down box next to "select" to choose what headlines you want displayed. You can choose to have one topic displayed or all of them displayed.

I just upgraded to 3.01 - didn't even know it existed, but it works the same way for both versions.

Maybe it's the version of XOOPS I'm using. I am using XOOPS version 2.2. I don't see a select dropdown box. Here is a screen shot of the block edit screen I get by going:

Blocks>List All Blocks>Scroll to Block Description "WTOL News Toledo">Slide right to Edit/Delete>Click Edit.

I've also tried more than one theme for my administration pages with no luck.

Thanks again for your patient help.

Rats. My error. You want to use the block called "Headlines0," not the "Recent Headlines" block. You should be set from there.
