I'm a total N00b to Xoops. Anyhow, I'm thinking of starting a site for amature photographers etc. I'd like each member to have a profile with a gallery. Is this possible? Is there a Mod that does this? Does this magical MOD allow you to upload photos without the need for FTP? Can such a Mod resize photos so my users don't take up thousands of gigs of HD space?

Thanks in advance for any help.

hi sparticus,

Xoops has 3 very popular gallery modules, xoopsgallery, myalbum-p, xcgallery, and a new one from mexico recently on the scene. . Personally I like xcgallery. As for eating up space on the ol server? Not sure, but I think that depends on max file size, thumbnail image quality & size, and if you create intermediate pics for viewing. Most image managers use gd2 compression or image magik. Not sure which is better for conserving space.

Each has it's own look and feel. Check out the xoops gallery section to see which you think you might like.

Xoopgallery has it's home page here.

myalbum-p is located here.

Here's xcgallery link to download.
