I am planning to move all contents from one site to another site. Same hosting company with same server config. What should I know and how to prepare for it?

read the forums the search works wonders, sorry but this is one of the most asked question on this site. To avoid so many posts it would be best if next time you use it.

you have to edit mainfile.php
set permissions to 777 on the following folder
cache
templates_c
uploads

and any other module (mainly galleries) that require uploading, read each modules docs.

export your DB
close your site
download your entire website
edit mainfile.php to your new DB name, User, Server path etc.
upload to new host
set permissions ok your directories

and you should be good to go.
