Hi noelmaster,

I remeber now same problem happened, if same your problem, wheen i disable read-only for any file ( via normal windows explorer ) it returan to old case.

Then i know the cause, it's norton security system, just disable it or disable real-time protection.

that's windows for ya..

XP Home is basically that.. it's for everyday home users that don't have a requirement for servers or proper networking facilities.. basically it's stripped down.

if you require those features then you are best using the XP Pro edition as the benefits will far outweigh what XP Home edition can offer you without having to install this, install that etc etc and mess with other crucial settings. it's what XP Pro was for (xp pro basically replaced windows NT (in essence XP Pro is actually windows NT 5) XP Home is it's equivalent of Windows ME etc altho they share the same name and structure, the home edition lacks the essential features that is required for using as a server.
