I setup a site on a http://www.test.mydomain.cXX and now wish to transfer to the http://www.mydomain.cXX
As I am new to XOOPS and now realize it may be a tricky task to do.
Does anyone know an easy way to backup and restore the site?
Do I have to edit files and change the domain name? and if so is there some tools to do this.
Thanks for your responses.

Simple and easy questions:

1. Will it be site under another name, but in old location?
2. Or you'll change only hostname and physical location?
3. Or you ask how to to full transfer on new server into new database?

In case of 1-2 you have to see at
define('XOOPS_URL'
define('XOOPS_ROOT_PATH'
in mainfile.php

change first define in 1
change both define in 2

I see the mainfile.php where I have to change the root path and url. THanks.

The site was setup on a testing location that is with the same hosting company but a sub domain.

The long story is that a friend hosted the site for free as a sub domain on his domain. On his account he is able to create up to 5 domains.

So, since our club wanted to purchase our own account now and get things going I decided to make the new site with XOOPS but needed a place for testing.
We created a new site ex. test.mydomain.cxx

Now I have to get him to remove the mydomain.cxx from his account so I can purchase it.
Then I will transfer the test.mydomain.cxx to mydomain.cxx

So , it looks like all I will have to do is change the mainfile.php

Thanks.

Yes, I will need to transfer the whole site and create a new database at the new location.
I guess I can change the database name in the mainfile.php as well?
I should make the database name the same?
