Hi all,

I was just wondering if there is a way to check users IP address's.. this would then let admin know if someone has created two or more accounts yes?

Please, how to do?

When a user registers his IP is logged in the database, prefix_users. Also anytime a user posts a comment the IP is also displayed to the admin within the comment.

Well, I was going to suggest a search, 'cos I have posted a couple of items about gathering IP addresses. But... XOOPS 3 character search limit kinda foxes that idea. You enter 'IP Address' as the search criteria and XOOPS says:

Quote:
The following words are shorter than allowed minmum length (3 chars) and were not included in your search: IP

So you wind up searching for 'address'.

I will endeavor to track down the posts for you in my notifications. Look out for my 'Xoops search is less than ideal' post in feature requests.

Usually. Unless you have a lot of business users that could come from a NAT firewall with one IP or an Internet Cafe, or even the local library.

And remember some (mostly dialup and DSL)Ips change each time they relog. So it is not 100%, but will help.

One of the posts is in this thread. Helps identify cable broadband proxy addresses. I had bookmarked another which enabled the IP to be gathered in the sign-up form, but even I can't find that one.

Has anybody done a hack for the Profile module (2.2.3) that will display to webmasters the last IP from which the user has logged in?
