What are these wrt-files?

I have thousands! of wrt-files like wrtGFF04L in my cache-folder and I don't know where they come from.

Does anybody know?

Edit: They can be deleted, but not be viewed or downloaded

WTFIGO? Every minute a new file is added. If I calculate a bit this means 43200 files a month with a weight of 40MB!

good question. They should not be caused by XOOPS at least.
Can your host give anything to go by?

Can you view the source of these files after downloading them through ftp? If so, can you post a snippit of the code?

I don't know of anything in XOOPS that creates files like this.

Just as a precaution, chmod cache/ templates_c/ and uploads/ to 755.

As already mentionend files can only be deleted not viewed or downloaded. They all have CHMOD 600 and are 1Kb big.

But who or which knows of the cache-folder else than XOOPS. There are no other scripts running on this server.

The last thing I changed was an update to 2.0.13.2 and before updating newbb to cbb 1.14/1.15.

Arggggghhhh, these files are even in templates_c!

Who is the owner of these files? Which user, I mean?

Usually same way you check permissions. It should show an owner too.

Normally, I can FTP to my host and in the file listing also set it to show the owner of the files. Otherwise rightclick->properties and the owner should show as Bender says.

In any case, you should inform your host.
