Maybe someone could rename the topic title to language month format, because the problem seems not to be language specific.

Thank you

Hello Incama,

Maybe a stupid question from me, but what is the language of your operating system and internet browser?

If the module is not getting the month name from the language file (/language/nederlands/calendar.php) it might be getting it straight from your pc...

Well my computer is all Dutch, my browsers (moz ie and opera), my os is dutch.

You know what is really funny? That I never ever have seen people using XOOPS sites have their date (read=month) in their own language. Normally people use the short format eg 10/12/2005 etc, or the site is in English.

I have tested other cms/blogs like nucleus and WP. They all showed my month format in Dutch.

Marcan has tested his own modules in English and French, but was not able to get a French month format/spelling either. I know the most dev's don't have alot of time, and I know personaly that Marcan already has spend alot of time trying to fix this, but he needs help from the other dev's as stated in previous posts. It seems that people don't care that much as I (and gediminasbyt) do to get this right.

Again, for alot of people it is no problem to use a short date format, or are using the English language, but for me as designer, it is a problem.

But thank you for sharing your thoughts . Somehow I hope some other dev's will read this post.

icama,

This is not my script, but hope it helps? The original authour told another to just change to the language he wants.

Here's the link. Beware, very scary place. I had to tip toe in there and not get caught. Barely made it out alive!

I have tested the small script (as part of the templates), works nice, but it only will generated current time and date, so it's of no use. But thank you anyway:).

Ok,
So that does work for current date and time only. I'll keep looking.

When you say templates your are referring to the news templates?

So active news articles do not display correctly, but the same articles when archived do then display the language change correctly?

Just making sure I and others understand.

Shouldn't these months be in a javascript file?
