Well,
I was just editing few stories on my site [adding pics] in NEWS 1.3 module and sudenly, while reloading a page, it said ERRORS and all the stories from the site, one year work were inmediately gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't blame anybody, except me {should have back up it, but who could know}, I am just so #OOPS# angry and frustrated, I will cry. There were 160 stories... #OOPS#. I am quiting this #OOPS# non sense of having a #OOPS# website... #OOPS#...

I checked the table xoops_stories trought phpmyadmin and it says - something like THE TABLE IS IN A USE, and the table is empty. Then there is also something like this>

SQL-dotaz: EDIT

SHOW KEYS FROM `xoops_stories` ;

MySQL : Dokumentace
#1016 - Can't open file: 'xoops_stories.MYI'. (errno: 145)

This already happend on a new site I am building, but there were only 2 stories, so no big deal. I am using on both sites XOOPS 2.0.13.1 and the sites adress http://www.mla.sk, u can visit it and hava fun, enjoy lot's of content... hahaha

I doubt there is any chance of rescuing any data, because I think all is gone. Could this be a falt of my webspace provider

MAKE BACK UPS OF YOUR DATABASE, so u wan't have such a problems as I do...

#OOPS# that bad luck, these days are non of mine... I am gonig to cry. #OOPS#, #OOPS#

Fist, calm down. I know that's easier said than done in this situation, but a cool head will prevail.

If your site is hosted on a commercial hosting service, they most likely will have made a recent backup of the database. Try contacting them and see if they can restore your database from backup.

Try reproducing the errors using a test site in the same environment with PHP Debug and MySQL Debug turned on. Then paste the output here.

Best Regards,

James

I don't want to ban you, but I do have to ensure that things don't get out of hand. This is a family-friendly site after all.

Go take a walk, take some deep breaths, clear your mind, then start on the suggestions I gave you. You'll be alright.

Best Regards,

James

The error you're getting states that the database table is corrupt. XOOPS cannot do that! That's a database server issue, and you should tell your host about this.

MySQL datatases store all data in those files you mention it cannot open, and XOOPS has no influence on that at all.

Try to run as a SQL query in phpMyAdmin

REPAIR TABLE stories

or whatever table is broken. This might help.

Now, I called my host, he repaired the table and it all works, except I left the php debug on and it says strange things. Cold somebody look at that, what is wrong? Perhaps I should reload some files in the system? Look here http://www.mla.sk

thanx for your help.
