Ok Im pretty new and Ive been able to figure out most of the stuff already on my own but I am having issues trying to find out how to put content on my "home" page in the red circle area.

Also is there some documentation somewhere that goes over Xoop and its features and how to use them.

No problem!

Short answer put everything you want to display there in Center.

Long answer:

Just a little bit of info first:

Before posting please do a search in the XOOPS top right "Search" box using appropriate "keywords" and find out if the subject has been dealt with before. Also look through the FAQ’s, especially if you're unsure what search words to use.

I couldn’t find any related issues by searching what next?
Please use an effective title for the post; this assists other users to answer you who have had a similar problem. Many users will not be attracted to a "please help me I have a problem" title. A relevant title also helps other users find solutions to their problems.

Posts like ‘I have a blank page’ will generally be ignored. Not because we don’t want to help, but because we can’t with such a small amount of information.

Turn on debug:
To switch on debug, go to system admin-->preferences and then general settings. You will see a "Debug mode" field. Choose "PHP Debug". Then go to the page that has problems and copy and paste any error messages under php-debug messages in the template below.

Copy the following template into your post and fill-in as much information as possible. The more information you give, the more likely you will receive a quick and effective reply to your post.

XOOPS Version:
Module Name/Version:
PHP Version:
MySQL Version:
Web Server Software (Apache/IIS/Other):
Operating System:
Theme you are using:
PHP Debug Messages:
MySQL Debug Messages:
Smarty Debug Messages:

Hi

Basically, you need to go to admin => system => preferences=> general and select a module for your start page.

How to add content will then depend on what module you use as your start page. If it is (say) news, you can start submitting news stories etc.

There is some documentation here. Check out the operations manual. I'll see if we can get a full set of docs back online in a couple of weeks (when I get back).

Ok another issue.

Theme I'm using is 7danna_clean.

Im trying to get rid of some links up top where they are across the top in the gray bar, since I dont need them. Primarily the news & download links. How would I go about this? I've read the faq and 52 pages of documentation from the link madfish posted but I cant figure it out.

Im still learning and reading so I may be overlooking the obvious.

Re: New Issue

Edit your theme.

Edit theme.html and remove stuff you don't need.

That's where your theme tutorials come handy.

LOL everytime I post a new problem I figure it out after posting.

I guess its just taking a little getting use to trying to figure out how CMS's work as this is my first time using one.

But I do have a question that I dont think I'll be able to figure out. How do you make it so when someone types in your web address to get to the home page they dont have to type in http://www.name.com/xoop/html. How can I make it just http://www.name.com
