Template - Newbie Question

Thanks in advance for any help...

I am new to XOOPS and am trying to install a template for the first time. All the templates I download are in a .zip file, yet the software says i need a tar.gz or .tar file. Can anyone tell me how to install the template using just the .zip file?

Please look into our faq where you will find some basic stuff and description about themes and templates and how to install

https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=208&

Then download a theme, uncompress zip or tar and upload themefiles to /themes/themenamexx
