Try using a random quotes module.

For one site we worked on we just modified the name of the random quotes to testimonials...Guitargearheads did a similar thing with Tips and Tricks.

try one of those out!

I used Marios V1 and does exactly what I'm after (even better it works on 2.2.3 unlike wf quotes
