Apache/PHP problem

Hi

First post, I have installed XOOPS at home on a Suse box (locally) with only minor problems but basically it works fine.

I set up a Suse 9.3 web server and when I try to access the XOOPS folder to start the installation I get access denied. If I access the index.php file it displays the code rather than running the installer, even phpinfo.php has the same results.

This must be a problem with Apache2 anyone know how to fix this or do I need to wipe and start again?

You need to tell Apache2 to use PHP via the -D PHP4 switched and the httpd.conf file.

Good luck.

Hi, This is my first time using a system like xoops.
I have tried to adjust apache. I use apache 2.0 and php 5.

I have copied the texts in to the httpd file, but then it says:
configure the path to php.ini.
where and how do I do that?

you have to edit file apache/conf/httpd.conf

Alternatively you can use a system like xampp. That's a package of apache, php, MySQL and many more to run systems like XOOPS on your workstation/server.
