I am currently running XOOPS 2.0.13.1 and I want to upgrade to XOOPS 2.2.2.

I just wondering what will be happen to exciting modules after the upgrade?

I’ve seen lots of comments talking about upgrading the module to the new version to support the new version of XOOPS 2.2.2.

Can I use my existing modules on XOOPS 2.2.2 or later?
Why Do I have to upgrade the modules if available?
What will happen if I still using my old modules?
What will be happen if there are NO NEW modules to upgrade?

There are one or two topics on this already somewhere and if I recall one had got quite lengthy (up to 5 pages I think!).

Suffice to say that most developers are working on making most modules compatible but you have to give them time to do so. That said, not all modules are being updated (I don't think). If you're unsure, check with the developers of each of your modules. Personally, I'm keeping clear of 2.2 on live sites for a while until I know all of my modules can be updated to work OK with that version. I've heard others say the same. For me, 2.0.13.1 is great and does the job so I'm in no hurry.

Also - in the process of the 2.2.x releases we have learned of some module incompatibilities that we will try to fix in the next versions of XOOPS
