I currently have an old site online.

I want to create a new XOOPS site, but customize/modify the site before going live and replacing the new XOOPS site with the old site.

Can I install XOOPS into a temp directory - for example, unzip XOOPS into http://www.mysite.com/xoops THEN when I'm ready just move the contents of /home/mysite/www/xoops to /home mysite/www ?

Is this possible? What issues will I run into with this method? Any other posts that could help me out with this?

Thanks very much,
chris

All you should have to do is move the files, change the path entries in mainfile.php, clear the template_c and cache directories. After that you should be up and running normally.
