Hi. I'm new here in the forum, as XOOPS is new for me :)

I'v just installed XOOPS 2.2.3 on my server.

At first i couldn't find the XoopsMembers module in the package. but fortunately i've found it in the XOOPS 2.0.13.1 package.

But now i'm still having a problem with the "new Members" block, i can create it and i can make it visible everywhere, but it doesn't list any member... i don't know why. any suggestion?

thanks.

Oh... it's 3 days that i'm using XOOPS :P

It will not work in 2.2x versions. The user tables have changed from version 2.0x to 2.2x so it does not look in the right place for member information.

I have the New Users block working just fine on XOOPS 2.2.3 at MyWebResource.

You can find the following template in Template Set Manager »» default »» system_block_newusers.html

<table cellspacing="1" class="outer">
  <{foreach
item=user from=$block.users}>
    <
tr class="<{cycle values="even,odd"}>" valign="middle">
      <
td align="center">
      <{if
$user.avatar != ""}>
      <
img src="<{$user.avatar}>" alt="" width="32" /><br />
      <{/if}>
      <
a href="<{$xoops_url}>/userinfo.php?uid=<{$user.id}>"><{$user.name}></a>
      </
td>
      <
td align="center"><{$user.joindate}></td>
    </
tr>
  <{/foreach}>
</
table>

I honestly do not remember if I've made any changes to this template or not. Best thing to do would be compare my code with yours.

Hope this helps.

so what do you suggest? downgrade the whole system to the 2.0 version?

how can i do it without loosing users data, gallery images and so on?

I would suggest using 2.0.13.1 until 2.2.3 comes out of RC status for production sites.

Given you've only been using XOOPS for 3 days, I agree with jdseymour. You might be better off to close your site and manually downgrade to XOOPS 2.0.x. At this point, there is now easy way of doing this. You'll just have to manually copy the information over from database to database.

If you site has a lot of content, and it's not possible to downgrade (such was the situation with MyWebResource), try cloning your default templates, replace the code in system_block_newusers.html with my code, if there is a difference. If that doesn't work, you may just have to do without the New Member block for a while.

my template is

<table cellspacing="0">
  <
tr>
    <
td id="usermenu">
      <
class="menuTop" href="<{$xoops_url}>/user.php"><{$block.lang_youraccount}></a>
      <
a href="<{$xoops_url}>/edituser.php"><{$block.lang_editaccount}></a>
      <{if
$block.lang_inbox}>
        <
a href="<{$xoops_url}>/modules/pm/"><{$block.lang_inbox}></a>
      <{/if}>
      <
a href="<{$xoops_url}>/notifications.php"><{$block.lang_notifications}></a>
      <
a href="<{$xoops_url}>/user.php?op=logout"><{$block.lang_logout}></a>
      <{if
$block.admin}>
        <
a href="<{$xoops_url}>/admin.php"><{$block.lang_adminmenu}></a>
      <{/if}>
    </
td>
  </
tr>
</
table>

but with this template the module doesn't work. how can i change it? editing the file is the only way?

i've tried to change it from the admin panel, but it seems to be impossible...

That's the User Menu block, not the New User block. Look for system_block_newusers.html.

You'll need to clone your default template set before you can make any changes to the templates.

Until XOOPS 2.2.x is stable, that's probably the safest bet. Less headaches that way too. Good luck and happing XOOPS'ing!
