Hello,

So far, in my switch from php/postnuke my site has been THRIVING. I'm loving XOOPS completely.

I have a minor problem (which stems from my lack of knowledge of ModRewrite).

I want my index page to read:

http://www.pittpunk.com

NOT

http://www.pittpunk.com/modules/news

How can I acomplish this?

go into admin -> preferences -> General Settings and change:
Module for your start page (4th option down).

Eh, see... I want the news module visible...

I my index has a higher PR than modules/news/

i think XOOPS link system is bad for search engines

use a shorturl or simpleurl hack.

If you want news on your front page, then use the News Block. Admin > Blocks!

I need something similar, I'm trying to put news on the front page (preferably on main page instead of redirected to the news module).

If I set news module as main module, then there are other blocks that insist on being above the news section.

None of the news blocks shows what I want, either nothing or shows a link with just the title. ie: Top News, Recent News, Big Story.
