Using ranks as determining groups, or a module doing the same

Is there a way? I run a 2,300+ member Xoops-run website, and I want to install a section of the forum to be 50+ posts to view..

Any ideas?

At this moment, a feasible solution:
1 Create a group "authorizedGroup";
2 Write a script to update the group members according to member posts;
3 The update script could be run manually by webmasters or triggered by cronjob.
