PHP code appears all over page

Hi,

When I access my XOOPS site it has PHP code all over it. I managed to get through the install wizard even though there was PHP code on top of each install screen. Not sure how to go about fixing this?

PHP 4.3.9 is up and running on the server.

Are they PHP notices by any chance? If so, turn off the debug mode in system prefs.

What's happening is that you have
allow_call_time_pass_reference=ON

in your php.ini file in order to work with XOOPS 2.2 you need to set it to OFF.

That doesn't seem to be it :(

the /html/index.php page gives me a whole lot of garble so I am not even able to log into the system.

Any more ideas?
