1- copy all your files to the remote server
2- copy db to remote db
3- update mainfile.php with your remote server info.
4- CHMOD mainfile.php to 444
4- CHMOD 777 the following: /templates_c /uploads /cache
5- delete /install directory if it's still there.
that's it!

The only tricky part here is getting the right info into mainfile.php
In case your not sure what to place in XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and XOOPS_URL you can create a phpinfo file on your remote server to find out what they are.

I think, you have "Module for homepage" selected... and something wrong with it.
disable it by direct update of database (can't get you full and correct URL) and try login and go to admin after it

is that possible that the reason is that on my local machine it runs:
Apache version Apache/1.3.33 (Win32)
PHP version 5.0.4
MySQL version
4.1.10a-nt extension mysqli

and on the remote machine it runs:

Operating system  Linux
Kernel version
:  2.4.22-1.2115.nptl
Apache version  1.3.33
(Unix)
PERL version   5.8.1
PHP version  4.4.0
MySQL version  4.0.18
-standard

if this is the reason... how can i solve that?

The "Undefined index" lines mean XOOPS is unable to retrieve the config data from the DB.
Quote:

...
MySQL version : 4.1.10a-nt - extension : mysqli

and on the remote machine it runs:
...
MySQL version 4.0.18-standard

It might come from here.
MySQL 4.0 and 4.1 are not fully compatible since the later changed/enhanced its support for different character sets.
I can't help you anymore, as I never encountered this (I run different MySQL locally, so my local sites use the same versions as the online ones), but somebody else may give a solution starting from this info (maybe: check if the program you use to export/transfer the db data has an option to handle this).
