I have just upgraded one of my sites from 2.2 to 2.3 but I forgot to log into admin before ftp'ing over the update files. Now when i enter my admin user name and password I'm just greeted by a white user page. If I the try and manualy type in /system/admin into the address bar I jusr get you don't have permission to access this area.

Is there anything I can to to run the system update so I can log in again?

Remove the install directory and mainfile.php from a 2.2.2 distribution and overwrite the 2.2.3 you just uploaded.

It works for me.

I had the same thing happen, go to the FQDN/recovery.php page, log in, then go to the index/homepage you should be logged in.
