Long story.

Have tranfered from a RH7.2 hosting rig to a Fedora4 rig, upgraded xooops on the old system first.

Now certain modules don't work. IE. Forums, Polls, etc.

Have checked all the paths i can think of and rest of site seems perfect any ideas?

Apache 2.0.x, PHP5, MySQL 4.x,

Bear

And which version of XOOPS you have on there, along with which version of modules.

I think the culprit here is your PHP5. Some things are not working on PHP5 yet.

If it's 2.2, then it could be something else...

sorry posted last while working, here's the detail:

2.0.13a Xoops
Base forums/polls etc with some extra modules that i'm not concerned about.

php-5.0.4-10
httpd-2.0.54-10
mysql-server-4.1.12-2.FC4.1

no selinux

2.2.x upgrade breaks install completely (ie no pages displayed)

That said how hard is it to export/import a user list and forums/news topics directly from MySQL to say a 2.2.x install?

the rest of the site i can lose...

Admin pages appear to work.

Re: Server Transfer Problems

The server your exported from, did it have a 4.0x MySQL server. There are differences in the way these two releases work with data that can cause problems. I have seen the -compatible command for exporting from MySQL 4.1x to 4.0x but do not know how to fix it the other way.

That may only be part of the problem though. Even though XOOPS works well with PHP 5 most modules do not. So that being said it is hit or miss whether a module will work properly with PHP 5 or not.

Have you tried to run the repair command on the database to see if it fixes any errors?

I also will be migrating my site to a new server over this next week. Will see if I come across any more pointers.
