Hi!

Please, Please, This is an urgent request!
Add a new category on the MODULE REPOSITORY ONLY FOR MODULES THAT RUN IN XOOPS VERSION 2.2.2.

I'm running a XOOPS only for Spanish. See it here:
http://www.ipwgc.com/espanol/
I have a big problem with modules and the versions.

Also, I am running XOOPS version 2.2.2 only for English. See it here:http://www.ipwgc.com/english/
Many modules are not running, and I'm having a big problem with this situation.

THE SOLUTION FOR ALL OF THE WEBMASTERS IS:
TO OPEN A NEW SECTION ON THE MODULES REPOSITORY, AND ADD ONLY THE MODULES THAT WORK ON THE VERSION 2.2.2 UP TO 2.2.3.; 2.2.4, ETC.

Thank you to all of the XOOPS who have developed the XOOPS version 2.2.2. You have done a great professional work.

Regards,
Webmaster of IPWGC.com

Gets my vote. I appreciate many devs are unlikely to ever upgrade their modules. Accordingly, I think it's safe to assume that unless a module carries a statement that it works in 2.2, it should be assumed that it doesn't.

Given this, it should be easy (and quick) enough to create a new 2.2+ compatible downloads section and only put modules in it that have been proven to work. If devs fail to state the system requirements clearly, their mods get left in the 2.0.xx section.

I would prefer to have a choice of 6 modules that are known to work than waste time installing 300 that don't.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

I agree this or something similar needs to be done.

Im seeing alot of people in the forums asking questions why a module doesnt work when they have installed XOOPS 2.2

Users have no way to determine that some modules do not work in 2.2 and who knows how much it might mess up their site.

If something is not done, there will be alot of people finding another solution that works.

There are some posts in the forums, but they are hard to find for new users.

It would be nice to at least have a block with link to 2.2 modules list.

You may want to look at this thread:

Module Compatibility for different XOOPS Versions.

But I agree, there needs to be a section in the Downloads for 2.2 modules to cut looking through all the other 2.0 or prior versions.

Hope this helps!

Peekay. I am totally in agreement with you, and this is what needs to be done urgently.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION WE HAVE ON THE DOWLOADS SECTION THIS QUANTITY OF MODULES:
There are 57 Categories and 316 Downloads listed

SLEO577, Thank you for your vote on my idea.
This way we save time, and go direct to the upgrade section. Also, the old modules that are not being developed enymore well go to the memory section of the past immediately.
