I keep getting the following message

Could not write into mainfile.php. Please check the file permission and try again.

I have checked permissions and they (admin, owner and system), all have read, write and full control permissions.
My OS is windows XP
Can anyone advise me?
Have I got a corrupt download?

Re: initial installation

Add those permissions to the built in IUSR account. It should be able to write then.

JD's answer applies only to IIS servers, in WInXP/Apache (like many localhosts) your files should be writable by default. I never had any problems with my localhosts on winXP with mainfile.php not being writable.

what server are you using, and how have you configured your setup?
