modules installing giving errors all around

Hi,

Now I actually downloaded several more modules like chess,calendar,gallery, uploaded them to html/modules
and my moduleadministration says on all modules file not found but how then does he recognise the files as being modules

It must be able to read the file xoops_version.php within the individual module's directory to display a module properly. Usually with a module not found error there is an extra folder created from unzipping the archive that is uploaded and causes xoops_version.php to be too deep in the directory structure to be read.
