Ok I am running Fedora 4, I have XOOPS 2.2 with all of the patches I could find here.
Websites are http://www.ychat.com and http://www.saltlakemeet.com
I can install the friendfinder v3.3 that another poster provided, it installs beautifully, however once it installs I can't do anything.
None of the changes I make write to the DB (mysql).
I can go in and edit the table values manually, but that is not an option for my users.
Anyone got any suggestions?

I have had a play with this, just checking, did you do what the How to Install said to do eg.CHMOD

How to install:

1) Unzip all files to your hardrive

2) Upload friendfinder to http://www.yoursite.com/modules/

3) CHMOD members/uploads to 777

4) CHMOD cache to 777 and config file to 666

5) Go to admin and install and configure the module.

The original Friendfinder, of which this is a modified version, required register_globals 'on'. Could that be the problem?

To be fair, this is a relatively old module and (like many) was not designed to work with XOOPS 2.2.

Er... well in Windows you change php.ini. In Linux I have no idea. But there are a number of users on this forum that will know. You may have to wait a day or so.

I just uploaded Friendfinder and tested with XOOPS 2.0.10 and it works, but I know my host has globals on.

If you turn XOOPS PHP debug on (in prefs) the module generates a *lot* of PHP notices. These should not in theory affect how it works. There are also however a couple of warnings which may affect it:
Warning [PHP]: main(): Unable to access ../../mainfile.php
in file modules
/friendfinder/header.php line 69
Warning
[PHP]: main(../../mainfile.php): failed to open stream
No such file or directory in file modules/friendfinder/header.php line 69
Warning
[PHP]: main(): Failed opening '../../mainfile.php'
for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php'in file modules/
friendfinder/header.php line 69

I have absolutely no idea what any of that means. .

Xoops 2.2 is young, fiesty with attitude and issues. Friendfinder is obviously in the age-range that it excludes from modules it would like to date!
