Urgent help needed!

Today my site suddenly stopped working.

http://www.cykeltur.se

It is running on XOOPS 2.0.9.2 and I have not changed anything these last few weeks. Now the index.php seems to be loading for ever and nothing more happens.

I have ask the hosting company and all seems OK from their view.

Is this a well known bug or maybe a well known way to sabotage XOOPS sites.

This is a charity site and I need to get it running as fast as possible ...... so please give me some hints on how to proceed.

This problem has happened to me several times on all versions of xoops. For me, each time it was my hosting company and the MySQL server being hammered by other hosts (it is a shared server). They kept telling me that all was OK, but eventually rebooted the server to fix it.

No I dont think thats the problem. I can get to my files via FTP and my DB via PHPMyadmin.

I suspect someone has made a hack somewhere....

All tips are welcome?

I've tried accessing your site through:http://www.cykeltur.se/user.php
and the result is the same.
Try creating a phpinfo() file, place it at the root, then try to access it. If it still endlessly tries to load then the problem isn't from xoops.

Can you please explain what a phpinfo() file is or maybe give me a link where I can get one?

Try this:
-Create an html with some text (for ex: SERVER TEST).
-Name it: servertester.html
-Upload the file to your root directory
-Now using a web browser, goto:
http://www.cykeltur.se/servertester.html
If it still doesn't open then the problem is with your web server and not Xoops. If it does open come back here and let us know so we can try and help you.

it would be:

<? php phpinfo(); ?>


Make a file, maybe called phpinfo.php in your root directory with the above code in it. The call it from your webserver ashttp://yourdomain.com/phpinfo.php. Then, you'll see the information on your server (assuming it runs ok).

Server seems to be working... right?

result: Nothing happens... tha same wait as for the whole site.

Maybe there is something wrong with PHP on the server.... or?

Then it's definitly a web server problem. Press on your hosting company and tell them of this result. If you have cpanel access, you can also check if any services are down.

I just would like to confirm this conclusion. Eventually the hosting firm also confirmed it and fixed the problem.
