How i can make welcome message to my frontpage and recent news below it?
Like here in XOOPS.org.

you need to make a custom block.

try searching the forums. i believe this question has been asked and answered many times before. :)

okay i found how to but now i got one problem:
How i can update from news 1.1 to 1.3 without losing my news?

Just create a custom block in system admin -> blocks, and set it to show up on the startpage. Then, go to system admin -> groups, and set the access and viewing rights for that block (you might not want your members to view the block, for instance).

ok, here's another problem:
I can't get recent news to the main page. I can't find the "recent news" block anywhere :|
