Hello all,

As you are probably aware, I host a XOOPS breast cancer support site (http://www.fbctogether.org).

In order to gain access to broader readship and come up higher on search engines, I am seeking reciprocal links with other XOOPS web sites that provide information on breast cancer, cancer treatment, cancer support, women's diseases, etc.

If you might be interested in sharing links, so that your site will also benefit from higher search rankings, please contact me directly (IM or email is fine).

For those who may not wish to be a reciprocal link partner, because your site is operating in a diferent domain than mine, you can still help me out by linking to my site.

If you decide to help me in my effort to spread information and knowledge in the fight against breast cancer please link to:

Also please let me know that you have linked to my site.

Thank you for helping!

rabideau:

just a suggestion.

You might get more people exchange links if you were to ditch xoopspartners module. Xoopspartners and other type of XOOPS LINKS modules should really not be used for Reciprocal Links. The reason for that they all use 302 redirect which poses a HUGE problem with Googlebot. Even using a modified 301 redirect will not be good enough.

A plain html file with direct links, wrapped under Xoops, should be able to get more people linking to you.

Thank you tl,

I'll make the change. I certainly do not want to cause anyone a Google rating problem. My prefered approach has been to use direct links with MultiMenu. You may have noticed a bunch of links set up in that manner.

The actual XoopsPartners listed on my site are 'mostly' my other sites.... and one of a friend.

To-date though, I've had zero success in getting other XOOPS sites to point to mine.

Hi,

I've read somewhere that its important for ranking that linked sites have different ip adresses, otherwise one will be "ranked down".

I don't know how important or how true this is or if all your sites have the same ip adress. However, if is IS important, then it would mean that it is probably worth while us farming out all our sites to different providers, despite the extra cost.

Can anyone else (a SEO expert?) shed some light on this?

Best wishes,

Alan

mark: did you enable the multi-menu? it is not shown to anonymous users. tl

Hello tl,

The News & Information; Research Information and Support Information Menus are all multimenu items. Hopefully you can see those.

I still have no reciprocal links requested by anyone which would require the addition of a multimenu list to contain them. Once I get one (a link that is...), I'll put a new multimenu block on the site.

Sorry for any confusion....
