Hi,

How do I make a page that users can visit, so that it changes which group they are in?

eg, Registered user visits promote.php and becomes a Course Member?

Well not sure how you are planning to display content. But you can create custom blocks viewable by certain groups and not by others. They will only see the blocks that they have permission to view. Of course you would need to remove the permissions from the registered user group and add the permission to the custom group manually for each block.

Yeah, Im planning to have some custom blocks, and a few modules available to inly the promoted users. I was just trying to find a way to promote them without having to do it manually...

If there was a custom page (or block) i could make that allowed them to click something and be promoted to the custom user group... has anyone ever tried it, or have an idea?

There is a module to assign groups. But for the life of me I cannot remember the name of it. Anyone here know it, or where to find it?

What do you mean "assign groups?"

And yes, anyone? I have gone through the modules section but could easily have missed something...

Note: Registration Codes is now available through here:

The version linked in that thread is old and outdated.

hi coops,

In this thread (in Portuguese, translated by google), i implemented a way to user, on registration form, select of which group would like to participate.

I know that this does not decide its problem, however it can serve as you so that he develops something.
