Hey there,

Ive just updated to XOOPS 2.2 (btw its amazing! great job ) and ive just noticed that two of my most active users on my sites accounts have gone missing.
We have hundreds of inactive accounts and i dont know if any of them have gone missing.

The question that i have is, is there any way of getting back those two lost accounts?

Thanx alot

Check your backup of the database before the upgrade. Look at the new structure and try to insert them into the database via querry. Not sure all their setting would be correct though.

I assume that you did search the database for their account first though.

No but I do have a couple of articles for making regular backups of your database. Both are spotlighted on my sites front page.

Browse the user table in phpmyadmin to see if the accounts are there.

To search for your user in the database run the query:

SELECT FROM `xoopsprefix_usersWHERE uname='lostuser' OR loginname='lostuser' OR name='lostuser'

Replace xoopsprefix with your actual prefix, and lostuser with the name of one of the missing users. Do them one at a time.

Ok, I think I have found the problem. All your users are still there Tic: Oaksy, Tiddles, and so on. Except that for the users you can't see, they don't have filled in the 'name' field.

Remember the new authentification system requires to have 3 level login: name, username and password.

In your case, any users having left the 'name' field blank, seems to have diseappeard.

What can we do in this case?

ask em to login with their username and then fill in their display name by editing their profile..

or manually edit the db find their username and then add it manually :)
