Is there a module that will let me backup the entire site - not just the database tables - into a single file.

Downloading the site via FTP is very slow with all the small files involved....

Not that I am aware of. Do you have cPanel hosting? There is a backup feature that will backup all at one time.

Not so easy when you're hosted on Windows servers or you don't have shell access.

If you *do* have shell access on a Linux server, just login and type the following command:

Quote:
tar czvf mybackup.tar.gz ./*

This will create a tar archive of everything under your XOOPS root folder. If you don't have the tools necessary to unpack a tar archive on your local machine, you can download an excellent freeware program HERE.

Hope this helps.
