Dear All

Is there a way to reinstall newbb completely without loosing the data ( i mean the posts!).

normally it should be enough to upload the same version over the existing files with your ftp. Update module in system admin and it should run like a new one without touching db.

From what version to what version?

If it's version 1 to 2 - yes, install over, update the module and run the required upgrade script

You may also have to delete the templates and regenerate - otherwise you can get funny effects

as always - i recommend a backup before starting

thanks to you both , actually i am on newbb2 and its not an upgrade its only that i screwed up with some of the files in the newbb directory and want to reinstall it completely with out touching the DB (post)
will the first option works i.e. just copying new files and updating the module

please confirm
