I just made a Google search of one of my sites and below the title and url of my site this shows up:

XOOPS is a dynamic Object Oriented based open source portal script written in PHP.

I need a hint where I can replace this text with something more relevant to my site

Change your metatags. Go to System Admin >> Preferences >> Meta Tags and Footer and edit there. Additionaly, check whether you have any hardcoded metatags in your theme.html which should be changed. Then wait for Google to crawl you again.

Thanks for the help, lads!
I know... I should have found it myself.... but I have been away for nearly 3 months so my mind is almost blank... when it comes to Xoops.

Frano.... how come you could show my a page in my admin section? Did you just parse the url or did you actually go to my admin page?

In my PM-site I have a little gadget that sends me an email every time Google scans the site.

Does any of you know of a similar tool for Xoops?
