Help with Recent News - Module: News 1.3.11

Does anyone know where the template for the Recent News block is?

I have checked templates and I have gone to system >> blocks >> and tried to edit the template there.

Basically I am seeing the title of the news items and the number of times they have been read.

I don't want the number of times the items have been read to be displayed in this block, yet when I look at the templates there doesn't seem to be a call for this info anyway so I can not see a way of getting rid of the unwanted read count.

Any ideas please?

Oh bollocks

I thought I would go to template manager and just delete the template in case it was still having some input from news 1.2 anyway, did this and was expecting to be able to generate a new template for the news_block_new.

But something has gone a little messed up and I am not been offered the chance to generate a new version of this template.

Any ideas?

Where is the template list kep? can I just manually edit some PHP file somewhere to add a copy of the default template?

Please help...

Ok second prob is now sorted, downloaded the template for this block from the default template set and then uploaded it to the templates folder in news on the FTP site, this has probably solved both problems in that now I have a template again - yay.

AND it has loads more stuff in so I guess I will find the call for the read count or hit count in this template.

Sorry for the multi posts about nothing....

Ok, tell me if I am doing something wrong here.

The template for the news_block_new does not contain the data for the template I wanted to change I needed to edit the template: news_block_top

What is going on there?

I ask for an explanation of what the hell is going on with that module?

I am pretty sure this is not my fault as when I try to edit the template from the system >> blocks screen it takes me to the news_block_new template.

Yet the information I was looking for was not in that template.

If I edited the news_block_top template, I acheived the desired results.

Can some one please explain what the hell went wrong with my upgrade?
