This came up today when I tried to enter admin. If you click "submit" it goes to a blank page

"This is your first time to enter the administration section. Press the button below to proceed."

I have been using this version for about two months. I searched but didn't find, any hints.

You may want to try

chmod 777 or 707 cache

Your host may have changed the directory access rights without telling you.

your using symantec 2005 internet security - or something along those lines.

note: this was already discussed here - i know cause i asked the question and found the answer:

ok - good thing i am as stubborn as the proverbial mule...

1) please to update the FAQ - reason - norton 2005 has a little change in it... one that they didnt bother to let us ( the public - not in their manual) know about.

2) privacy control - click on configure - choose custom level - uncheck browser privacy - click ok. end of freaking problem.

nothing but change is a constant - which to me is real real real real annoying.

This is happening to all 5 admins, 5 diff machines and connections, it s something that happened to admin.php or something that feeds it info. I can access /modules/system/admin.php - the left column menu is not showing.

I'm having the exact same problem. I just upgraded from 2.0.09 to 2.0.13. Now everytime I go into the control panel in a new session, it tells me that it's the first time that I've entered admin, as if it's a new installation.

I'm also having trouble saving my preferences now. I'm trying to close down the site to debug another issue that I think may be related to the upgrade, but I'm not able to close the site. Saving any preferences takes me to a blank white page where it stalls. Going back to the control panel at that point through the URL shows no modules. They only appear once I open the admin module again and get the "first time" message again.

Is this a bug in 2.0.13???

OH! I suppose I should add that my client chose a windows hosting server. YNOTINTX, are you on Windows or Unix/Linux?

Unix, are you using the AgendaX module? I can't turn debug on either.
