newbb2 problem after upgrading to 2.0.12

I've upgraded the Dune site (in my signature) from 2.0.7.3, and now the forums stopped working. I see only an empty page, and when I try to go to a forum manually (via a link), I get this error:

ERROR: Could not connect to the forums database.

I checked the database, it seems like forum tables are still there. I can access the categories via the admin interface.

Any idea how I can fix it?

What does it say in admin when you try to edit a forum?

What PHP debug errors on the blank page?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: newbb_get_topics_viewed() in /usr/home/web/public_html/modules/newbb/index.php on line 77

There are no erros when I edit the forum in admin panel.

I wonder if you did what I did? The upgrade contains the files for NewBB1, not NewBB2. So you may have overwritten your NewBB2 files with NewBB2 files.

All you need to do (if that's the case) is download NewBB2 and just copy the files across to your webserver again. No need for any module updates or anything like that.

In my case, I was getting 'An Error Occurred' whenever I tried to post. I came here and found the above answer. Worth a try anyway.

2.0.12a patch change contain an update for newbb1, the file modules/newbb/post.php, if you have applied this patch without remove moudles/newbb directory you have overwrite this file. I think that you can only overwrite again this file from the original post.php script of newbb2.

Yeah that was the problem. Pretty stupid of me - I didn't notice it was newbb1 fix and not newbb2.
